5 Natural Anti-Aging Secrets to Stop the Clock
You can’t stop the clock, but you can turn back time’s effects. People think of anti-aging to be an industry of expensive creams, plastic surgery, and pricy supplements. Aging is a natural part of life, so why not tackle it naturally? Here’s five natural anti-aging secrets to live your best life for your whole life.
Number one: sugar isn’t sweet. Everyone knows sugar isn’t healthy, but it can be for the outside of your body! Consuming sugar can weaken your skin’s collagen, which is a major component in aging’s effect on appearance.
Keep the sugar in your diet light, but sweeten up your shower by using a sugar scrub made of sugar and olive oil, or any oil of your choice. Stick with chemical exfoliants and a good sunscreen for your face- sugar can cause damage that’s hard to reverse.
Number two: supplement safely. Don’t bother with trendy anti-aging supplements or mixes that don’t clearly state their ingredients. Instead, include three vital anti-aging vitamins in your life- vitamin E, vitamin C, and selenium. Try to get most of these from a well-balanced diet, but it’s never a bad idea to get some outside help from the vitamin aisle.
Number three: gentle ginger. Tea is a great way to consume more water, which is also super important to your health. Ginger in particular is no new player to the anti-aging scene- it’s been used for hundreds of years. The antioxidants in ginger help to prevent free radical damage, the number one source of aging in the body. Try mixing shredded ginger with hot water and tea, or add it to your juice blend.
Number four: aloe isn’t just for sunburns. If you’re serious about anti-aging, you should avoid sun exposure as much as you can. Everyone knows that aloe is great for sunburns, but it’s also a great ingredient in your anti-aging portfolio. Aloe vera can prevent and lessen wrinkles topically, and decrease inflammation internally.
Number five: go crazy for coconut. Coconut oil sure is trendy, but for good reasons. It’s often considered a cure-all thing, but it truly is great for anti-aging. Use it for cooking as a way to add healthy fats, apply it as a body oil to prevent wrinkles and add elasticity, or try it as an overnight hair mask to bring youth back into your strands. Coconut oil is full of antioxidants and vitamins A and E.
Aging is just part of life, but that doesn’t mean you have to give into wrinkles or aches and pains. Living a healthy lifestyle is a time-proven and effective way of preventing the negative effects of age. You might be looking forward to your retirement, but remember your body never stops working. Treat it right, and you’ll look and feel good beyond your years.
