Breaking News – Lidl unveils £3.49 anti-ageing cream to rival La Prairie

If you want youthful skin but can’t afford to splurge on expensive lotions and potions, Lidl’s latest skincare range might be just the ticket. The budget retailer has unveiled a selection of cellular creams under its Cien beauty brand for just £3.49.The lotions are touted as budget versions of La Prairie’s £494 cellular radiance creams and use a similar anti-ageing ingredient to the one found in its luxury counterpart. The range, which goes on sale on January 25, features a day cream, night cream, eye mousse and a serum. The supermarket decided to launch the purse-friendly range on the back of research showing that in the UK, over £9 billion per year is spent on beauty products that promise to improve and transform. For the beauty bargain hunter who is looking for a steal, Lidl’s entire four-piece range can be bought for under £15, making it more than £400 cheaper than one pot of a designer cellular cream. So what’s so special about it? The creams, which also have SPF 15, contain an ingredient called myramaze, which apparently deeply moisturises the skin and supports the natural skin cell regeneration process to help prevent wrinkles and lines. The launch of the new skincare range comes after Lidl was branded the ‘fastest growing supermarket’ in the UK, after seeing sales rocket 16 per cent over the crucial Christmas period. The German-based supermarket group, which does not publish industry-standard like-for-like sales figures, said the week before Christmas was its strongest ever sales period.Lidl sold 600 tonnes of sprouts, 17 million mince pies and and over 800,000 litres of champagne and procsecco over the period.
