Protect Your Skin from the SunThe Japanese are very good at protecting their skin from the sun, because we know that 80% of skin aging causes are from sun damage. Eat a Skin Friendly DietFor healthy skin, you need the following three essential amino acids: glycin, prolin, and alanine. A lot of glycin is in bonito flake, soy, wheat, tofu, scalp, and almond. Prolin is also in soy. Alanine is in bonito flake, tofu, and seaweed. As you can see, many Japanese foods include these three skin friendly amino acids.
Use Fewer Skincare ProductsThe fewer skincare products you use, the healthier your skin will be. When you use a lot of skincare products, the various ingredients can cause allergic reactions. Your skin is already equipped with its own natural moisture and oils, a.k.a. the best skin cream in the world. Minimize your skincare routine so that your skin is able to take care of itself instead of relying on skincare products.
Skin Fast Once a WeekIf you use less lotion, you will have more supple skin. Excessive moisturizing makes your skin lazy and stops it from producing its own natural moisture. To train your skin to keep producing its own moisture, try fasting from moisturizes. Once a week, go to bed without applying any moisturizer. How easy is that?
The Less Washing, The Less Acne Breakouts Excessive washing can strip away your skin’s natural oils, which are necessary for healthy skin. For example, teenagers with acne often wash their faces excessively. However, this excessive washing is what makes their acne worse. All skin needs some oil and moisture, but excessive washing kills good bacteria and your skin’s natural oils. As a result, your skin tries to produce even more oil, which causes more acne breakouts.

The same principle applies to your face. When skin cells are damaged by friction, they become darker and thicker to protect from further damage. So, don’t rub your skin excessively. If you have to scrub your face periodically, do the bare minimum. When you use a towel after washing, pat your skin gently. Never rub.
